Dear Gmail,
You suck.
11 STATUS « [Gmail]/Sent Mail » (MESSAGES UIDNEXT UIDVALIDITY UNSEEN)
* STATUS [Gmail]/Sent Mail (MESSAGES 35 UIDNEXT 36 UIDVALIDITY 4 UNSEEN 1)
Please quote folder names containing spaces in your replies.
Is it allowed to forget quotes for names containing spaces? What does say the IMAP protocol?
Alban: RFC 3501 says (in the complicated RFC way of saying things) that it’s not allowed.
Make sure that they know, I would be surprised if it stayed broken more than a week… ;-)
On the contrary, I would be surprised if they fixed that anytime soon.
I told one of my contacts working on Gmail at Google, and he said that the bug was already filed, that they’re working on it and that it should be fixed soon. :-)
Pierre: good news! It helps to have contacts :-)
Thanks!
They did an update of Gmail yesterday, maybe it’s fixed now? In any case, keep an eye on this and let us know what happens!
Hopefully, they can prove Holger wrong… ;-)
That would be nice indeed :-)
Not fixed yet:
[22:53:42] IMAP4> 4 STATUS « [Gmail]/Sent Mail » (MESSAGES UIDNEXT UIDVALIDITY UNSEEN)
[22:53:42] IMAP4< * STATUS [Gmail]/Sent Mail (MESSAGES 35 UIDNEXT 36 UIDVALIDITY 4 UNSEEN 0) [22:53:42] IMAP4< 4 OK Success ** IMAP error: parse error (very probably non-RFC compliance from the server)
Still not fixed yet: this bug has lasted 14 days. And may continue to last :-(
It seems they have fixed the spacing issue now, at least I can read the « All mail » folder from Claws now.
